Hallo sobat blogger..
Senang sekali saya bisa membahas materi baru dalam blog sederhana ini. Pasti sobat blogger semua sudah pernah membuat undangan dalam berbagai acara misal ulang tahun, pernikahan dll. nah disini saya akan membahas tentang teks undangan.

INVITATION

An invitation is a request, a solicitation, or an attempt to get another person to join you at a specific event. Invitation adalah permintaan, ajakan, atau upaya terhadap orang lain agar bersedia bergabung dengan kita pada suatu acara tertentu.

COMMUNICATIVE PURPOSE
The purpose (tujuan) of invitation text is to invite someone to come/attend to an event. (mengajak/mengundang seseorang untuk hadir dalam suatu acara tertentu).

Ungkapan-ungkapan yang digunakan dalam invitation text sebagai berikut:
  1) Would you like to come
  2) Would you like to join us
  3) I would you like to invite you
  4) Request the present of …

Inviting (ungkapan untuk mengundang)
-   Would you like to ...
-   Could you come to ...
-   Would you care to ...
-   I'll really happy if you come to ...
-   I'm sure that you won't be disappointed to come to ...

Accepting an invitation (menerima)
-   Thank you for inviting me
-   I would/will ...
-   That would be very nice
-   I'd like to love to come
-   That's fine
-   Sure. Why not?

Declining an invitation (menolak)
-   I’m very sorry, I don’t think I can.
-   Thank you for asking me, but ….
-   I’d like to, but ….

-   Unfortunately, I can’t ….

GENERIC STRUCTURE

Adapun struktur/susunan yang terdapat dalam invitation text yaitu:
1. Invitee (yang diundang )

2. Body (isi undangan)
    Biasanya berupa hal-hal berikut:
       - Occasion (acara)
       - Day and Date (hari dan tanggal)
       - Time (waktu acara)
       - Place (tempat acara)

3. Inviter/Sender (yang mengundang)

Dialog 1

Rudi invites Maya to go to a cinema.

Ronald : Hi, Maya. there will be a great film tonight. it's about adventure.
               Would you like to go to the cinema with me?
Maya   : Yes, I'd like it very much. Will you pick me up?
Ronald : Sure. I will pick you at 07.00. Be ready. OK!
Maya   : Alright. see you
Ronald : see you too.


Dialog2

Fredi is very busy doing his homework. Sheila, his friend, asks him to come to her party.

Sheila : Heloo, this is Sheila. May I speak to Fredi?
Fredi   : This is Fredi speaking.
Sheila : Oh, hi Fredi. I wonder if you’d like to come to my house right now.
             We’re having a great party.
Fredi   : I don’t think I can. I’m doing my homework. My parents won’t let me out before
              I finish my homework.
Sheila : That’s alright.
Fredi   : I hope you enjoy your party. Bye.
Sheila : Bye.
